Armed Robbery

Mesquite Police Officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at the Terrible Herbst convenience store, located at 810 W Mesquite Boulevard Sunday, January 25, 2015 at approximately 8:30 pm.

Once the armed suspect left the store the frightened clerk was able to call 911.  Officers promptly responded securing the scene and canvassing the area in search for the armed suspect. Mesquite Police detectives were called to the store, where they commenced a thorough investigation.  Evidence was collected from the scene and the Mesquite Investigative Services Division is currently actively following up on multiple leads. 

The Mesquite Police Department is seeking assistance from the community in identifying the suspect.  The suspect is described as a white male adult approximately 5-06 or 5-07 and weighing approximately 160-180 lbs.  The suspect was wearing a black ski mask, blue bandanna, black sweat shirt, pink undershirt, dark jeans, and brown boots.  The suspect was also in possession of a black semi-automatic handgun.  Surveillance photos of the suspect entering and leaving the store are attached to this release below.

Monday, January 27, 2015 Mesquite Police Officers and Detectives arrested and charged 21 year old Mesquite resident, Colton Miller for robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary. Miller confessed to investigators informing them he was intoxicated during the commission of the crime. The weapon used during the crime was located and identified as an air soft gun. The black ski mask Miller used to cover his face was also located and taken as evidence
