On Friday, July 19, 2013 at 0909 hours, police investigated a single vehicle accident involving a cement truck, operated by Joseph Hardy of Mesquite. According to officers, Hardy entered the northbound roundabout on Falcon Ridge traveling at an unsafe speed and failed to negotiate the turn. The load of wet cement inside the truck shifted and tipped the truck over on its right side, coming to rest on the sidewalk.

The cement truck is owned by Precision Aggregate Products, located at 340 Falcon Ridge Parkway, in Mesquite. Officials from Precision Aggregate Products responded to the scene of the crash and provided officers with information and assisted with the clean-up efforts.

Mesquite Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene; however Hardy stated he was not injured. Once evaluated by paramedics, Hardy filled out a written statement declaring, “The suspension in the cement truck gave way causing the truck to tip over.”

Hardy was issued a citation for traveling too fast for conditions and released.
