Drug Dealer Arrested
Mesquite, NV – On Thursday, August 22, acting on tips from citizens, Mesquite Police Officers arrested 22 year old, Austin Ray for selling marijuana, out of his residence. Once inside Ray’s residence, officers located and seized 187 grams of marijuana, suspected liquid hydrocodone, and drug paraphernalia. Ray was charged with one count of felony possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), one count of felony possession of marijuana; with intent to sell, one count felony possession of a controlled substance (schedule III narcotic), and eight counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Ray was transported to Clark County Detention Center, located in Las Vegas.
The Mesquite police department credits alert neighbors who reported to police, that for short periods of time and at all hours there has been a constant flow of juveniles; presumed to be of high school age, in and out of Ray’s residence. Mesquite Police Chief Troy Tanner commended both the citizens and police by stating, “We always encourage citizens to be the eyes and ears of the police. Along with citizen tips and the dedication of the police, we continue to be a great team in combating the criminal element. “
