On Saturday, June 22 at approximately 5:40 am, a police patrol unit traveling southwest on Hillside Drive toward the Sandhill Boulevard intersection was struck by a passenger car exiting Peggy Sue’s restaurant parking lot.

The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the scene and conducted the accident investigation. The patrol officer, as well as the driver, and occupant of the passenger car were all transported by ambulance to Mesa View hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released. The two vehicles involved in the collision sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.

The adult female driver of the passenger vehicle, which struck the patrol vehicle, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently charged with DUI/alcohol first offense and failure to yield right of way from a private drive.
