MPD Files Additional Charges on Barricaded Suspect from February

On February 25th the Mesquite Police Department released a statement regarding officers responding to a domestic problem at a residence on Sandbar St.  Upon their arrival, officers learned that a male suspect, who was inside the residence, was making threats to harm others, and he was possibly in possession of a firearm.  Officers were able to communicate with the suspect, and after approximately three hours of negotiating, the suspect voluntary came outside the residence and was safely taken into custody by awaiting officers. 

At the time of the release, the identity of the suspect and criminal charges were not released pending the completion of the investigation. 

The suspect of the domestic problem was also the suspect of an ongoing meth trafficking investigation being conducted by the Mesquite Police Department’s Narcotics Detectives.  On 4/18/2017, the criminal investigation involving the trafficking of crystal meth was completed and additional drug charges filed. 

Zachary Bartee, 34, of Mesquite Nevada, was taken into custody on February 25th, and was criminally charged with: One felony count of domestic battery (3rd offense) and one misdemeanor count of obstructing.  Bartee is still being held in custody at the Clark County Detention Center on these charges.  The additional drug charges filed on Bartee on April 18th were:  Three felony counts of sales of a controlled substance (meth) and one felony count of trafficking a controlled substance (meth).
