Mesquite, Nv – On Tuesday, September 16, the Mesquite Police Department was recognized by Virgin Valley Elementary Principal, Cathy Davis. Cathy thanked the Mesquite Police Department for their dedication in determining how and where the new student pick up/drop off area would be located.  MPD was also credited for configuring the new area which will result in safe and organized school traffic. Principal Cathy Davis stated “The new area will provide much needed space to allow students to enter and exit the school each day. We are sure it will increase the safety of our students and decrease the time needed to pick up students from school. The students and staff of Virgin Valley Elementary School are grateful for all of the hard work the Mesquite Police Department has put into the project."

Sergeant Mike Van Houten, MPD School Resource Officer was present on behalf of the Mesquite Police Department to accept the certificate of appreciation from Principal Cathy Davis during VVES open house event.
