Narcotics Detectives Arrest Two Area Men on Drug Charges

Mesquite, NV – On Tuesday, September 3, Mesquite Police Narcotics Detectives witnessed two adult males complete a hand to hand drug transaction in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store, located on Riverside road. Officers immediately apprehended the suspects and found methamphetamine and the cash used to purchase the drugs in their possession. 


The two men involved were identified as Travis Hughes, 39, of Mesquite and Carlos Macias-Ponce, 37, of Bunkerville. Hughes was found to be in possession of 30.3 grams of methamphetamine, along with items used to package methamphetamine for sells, digital scales, and drug paraphernalia. Hughes was subsequently charged with trafficking methamphetamine with intent to sell, sale of controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic devices. Macias-Ponce was charged with possession of methamphetamine. Both men were transported to Clark County Detention Center.
