Mesquite Police Department's 5th Annual Trunk or Treat offered new twists on an old tradition. This year’s guests were entertained while waiting in line by showgirls, canine rescue dogs, a clown, Elmo, and costumed characters passing out candy.  There were photo stops with backdrops painted by the Hughes Middle School Art Club and a cotton candy station. A festive Halloween entry arch was provided by Virgin Valley Home Care and Hospice. Retired police officer, Bob Everett, returned from Ohio to serve as the official Trunk or Treat greeter.

Spookiest Trunk: Sun City MesquitePolice Chief Troy Tanner kicked off the festivities at 5 p.m. welcoming the 45 businesses that came out to support the event.  The Elks' Lodge served as judges for the Spookiest Trunk (Winner: Sun City Mesquite) and Most Festive Trunk (Winner: Klasik Kloset) contests.

Chief Tanner and the Mesquite Police Department (MPD) would like to thank the citizens, businesses, and friends of Mesquite for their generous donations to the 5th Annual Trunk or Treat.  This year several more business and community members volunteered their time and money to come out and help celebrate a safe and fun Halloween.  MPD would like to thank the following:
