National Night Out

Mesquite Night Out

The Mesquite Police Department is in its ninth year of participating in the national event of National Night Out. All police and public safety agencies across the country join together with their respective communities for an evening of fun, food, activities and learning. The objective of National Night Out is to allow communities and public safety personnel the opportunity to mingle together in a social environment, all in an effort to improve relationships of trust between both groups.

National Night Out in Mesquite has been an ever-increasing event. Although it started off relatively small nine years ago, it has now turned into an anticipated and enjoyable event.

Block Party

In addition to National Night Out, the Mesquite Police Department puts on Block Parties. These block party events serve the same purpose as National Night Out—give the community and police personnel an opportunity to build and develop relationships of trust with each other in a social setting—usually within residential neighborhoods. Previous Block Parties have involved Bicycle Rodeos, Community BBQ, and 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
