During the May 27, 2014 Mesquite City Council meeting, the City Council appointed Cindi Delaney to fill the vacant council seat left by the appointment of Allan Litman as Mayor.  Now, the City Council has five members again.

“I love Mesquite!” Delaney unabashedly declared about Mesquite.  “I have lived in and traveled through much of the United States.  And I have to say, there is something special about Mesquite.”

In reference to her appointment, Delaney remarked, “I am so grateful for the confidence of the City Council and Mayor to appoint me to fill the council vacancy.  I want to bring to bear all my talents and resources to help Mesquite be the best city it can be.”

Delaney has been a small business owner in Mesquite since 2005.  Mainly involved in mass media, Delaney started the first locally-owned and -operated newspaper and internet radio station.  She is also involved in a wide variety of local groups.

Councilmember Delaney’s appointment is until the next scheduled municipal election in November 2016.
