Lifeguard Certification Class

Summer is fast approaching and for those responsible young adults looking for certification of becoming a lifeguard, the Department of Athletics & Leisure Services has set up special times and dates with the City of St. George Aquatics Division and they are offering a Lifeguard Training Class. The class will run Tuesday through Thursday, March 26 – March 28, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Utah Time). The classes will be held at the Sand Hollow Aquatics Center. 

This class is American Red Cross approved the lifeguard training class which instructs and prepares participants on the knowledge and physical skills needed to respond to an emergency.  Class is limited to 15 students. 

To attend the class you must be 16 years old by the last day, you must be able to complete a 300 yards swim using the front stroke, breaststroke and retrieve a 10 pound brick from a depth of 10 feet of water. The swimming tests will be held the first day of class, please bring your swimming suits and a towel. The deadline for registration will be March 25, 2013. There is a cost to register for the class, please inquire with the City of St. George Aquatics Division
