The City of Mesquite Department of Athletics and Leisure Services would like to say thank you to all the volunteers, organizations and individuals for their help organizing and contributing to this year's annual Mesquite Days celebration. “It was a tremendous success, thanks largely to the generosity of the sponsors, donors and volunteers,” said Nicholas Montoya, Associate Director of the Department.

Thanks to the Susan Bennett Family (Grand Marshal) Historical Society, Founder’s Forum, Cancer Help Society, Virgin Valley Theater Group, Chamber of Commerce, all the parade entries and a special thanks to all of the Division within the Athletics and Leisure Services Department.

The Family Fun Night was a huge success, was well attended and everyone had fun. Thanks to those behind the scenes and on the front line that helped make this night happen; we will definitely be keeping this event included in our yearly celebration!

All volunteers, organizations, individuals and community leaders are to be commended for all their generosity and kindness. Senior Center Supervisor, Griseyda Belalcazar, praised all volunteers and said, “Their helpful and cheerful attitude made it a very warm and cordial environment”. Grateful for all the help, Belalcazar did point out some special volunteers: The Pre-School Sunshine Academy, Desert Valley Times/Internet sources, Mesquite Local/Internet Sources, Boy and Girl Scouts, City of Mesquite Mayor, Council & Staff, and all of the senior volunteers that helped prepare the locations, decorations and food for the event!!!

Generous donors for the event included Ernie Hoffman, Redd Hills Cinema, Smiths, ERA Realtor’s (Christina Potter and Christina Silverya), Reber Farms, Randon Potter, Highland Manor, The City of Mesquite Fire, Public Works and Police Department and other donors that wish to remain anonymous.

The City of Mesquite Department of Athletics & Leisure Services will definitely look forward to working with all businesses, organizations and volunteers in the future.

Once again, thank you all for your contributions and volunteer hours that helped make this event extremely successful, especially a big thanks to the planning committee.
