Distinguished Citizen Award for 2023

DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN AWARD

 Every person adds to the tapestry of a community, but in every city, there are some individuals whose contributions to the development and quality of life are particularly noteworthy. The City of Mesquite will recognize one individual each year who has contributed most significantly to this community.

If you know a special individual, please nominate that person for the Distinguished Citizen Award.  The deadline for filing a nomination with the City Manager's Office is 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024. The award will be presented at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 at 5:00 PM.

 How to Nominate a Candidate

1.   Individuals may be nominated by any resident.
2.   Nominees can be a current or former resident or businessperson, and can be living or deceased.
3.   The goal is to honor (be they well known or unsung) individuals who have contributed significantly to making Mesquite a better place to live.
4.   A nominee should have shown good character throughout their life.
