VRC Beginnings.
In September 2017, a group of local community members, Mesquite City representatives, irrigation and water district representatives, non-profit organizations, and county, state and federal partners convened to write the Lower Virgin River Integrated Watershed Plan. That cooperative is now called the Virgin River Coalition - VRC. VRC’s goal is to ensure that the river continues to support the local communities and nature.

The Virgin River Coalition’s Mission is to:
Develop strategies, identify partnerships, facilitate implementation and evaluate progress to improve the human values and ecological health of the Virgin River for future generations of residents, visitors, businesses, recreational users, farmers and ranchers.

The Virgin River Coalition is led by a steering committee, a professional facilitator and a local coordinator.

Virgin River Coalition Meeting is held twice a year in October and April at the City Council Chambers at City Hall. The public is invited to attend portions of the coalition meeting.
The Virgin River Coalition is looking for local community people to become members of the Virgin River Coalition. Please contact the local coordinator if you are interested in becoming a member.
The Virgin River Coalition is funded by a Grant from the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection - focusing on Non-point source pollution, and the City of Mesquite.
