Leavitt Lane and Hafen Lane Roadway Project Description
This roadway project consists of the construction of a new portion of Leavitt Lane and the roadway
improvements along a section of Hafen Lane.
Leavitt Lane improvements will begin at the intersection of Falcon Ridge Parkway and the existing end of
Leavitt Lane and will run west and south across Pulsipher Wash and connect into Hafen Lane. This new
roadway will consist of 30 feet of new asphalt, (12 feet travel lane and a 3 feet bike lane on each side of
the roadway), new streetlights and a new box culvert across Pulsipher Wash. The policy of the City of
Mesquite is to install the middle portion of the roadway asphalt and then the developers on each side of
the roadway are required to finish the curb, gutter and sidewalk when they develop the adjacent
parcels.
Hafen Lane improvements consist or the installation of curb, gutter and sidewalk along the south side of
the existing roadway. This will remove the shifting nature of the roadway. New asphalt will be installed
along the south side of the roadway. It is also understood that the box culverts at Hafen Lane and
Pulsipher Wash will be extended to accommodate the new roadway. New waterline and associated
valves will be installed on Hafen Lane.
Funding for this project is funded through the Clark County Regional Flood Control District, Regional
Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada and the Virgin Valley Water District.

Mesquite will be closing a portion of Hafen Lane to complete roadway improvements on Hafen Lane.
Please see the attached exhibit showing the closure area. Detour signage will route all traffic to
Riverside Road, Mesquite Boulevard or the new Leavitt Lane roadway. The Hafen Lane closure will begin
on May 26 th and continue until June 24 th . The City of Mesquite appreciates your patience during this
construction activity.
