Master's Degree in Judicial Studies
Recently, Mesquite judge Ryan Toone received his master’s degree in judicial studies from the University of Nevada, Reno. Completion of the program has been a long-term goal for Toone since taking the bench in 2013.
“I pursued this degree because I wanted to improve as a judge and be better equipped to handle the criminal and civil cases filed in our local courts, Toone said. “Involvement in the program provided me
with opportunities to network with judicial colleagues and to learn from expert faculty. The experience helped me improve as a judge and better serve the Mesquite community.”
Toone and his family have resided in Mesquite for over a decade. In 2015, he started Mesquite’s first Drug Court program with the support of the City of Mesquite and the assistance of many community partners.
Toone received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2006.
