2022 National Police Week - Honoring our law enforcement officers.

National Police Week - 2022

2022 National Police Week

72 officer line-of-duty deaths in 2021 across the country. 472 families that have to live without their heroes because of the sacrifice they made while protecting their communities. These deaths came from Covid exposure while responding to calls, traffic fatalities, gunfire, stabbing, and many other hazards presented to a law enforcement officer on a daily basis.

Sadly, in 2022 we are already to 105 line of duty deaths. And unfortunately that number will continue to rise.

Today is Peace Officer Memorial Day. It is a time to honor those 25,767 heroes that have died since the creation of this country. It is a time for officers to reflect and remind ourselves how vital this career is to the safety of our neighborhoods, and that you all are the reason we choose to put on the badge day after day, year after year.

Thank you to all of you who take the time to let officers know how much you appreciate them. Your kind words mean more than you know and help us push through those tough days.

The names that have been added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial were read aloud during the 34th annual Candlelight Vigil to memorialize those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Please take some time to watch this touching ceremony using this link:
