Court Payment options and more information

COURT FEE'S: Click here for current Court fee's.

ONLINE: Please follow the instructions on the appropriate website referenced above to make an online payment.

MAIL: You may mail your payment to the Mesquite Municipal Court, 500 Hillside Drive, Mesquite, NV 89027. Please include your case number with your payment to insure proper credit (Personal check, money order, certified check, or cashier’s check). Please do not send cash in the mail.

TELEPHONE: You may make a credit card payment (MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card) via telephone (702) 346-5291 if your case is eligible.

IN PERSON: You may make your payment in person at the Municipal Court during window hours – Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM excluding holidays (Cash, personal check, money order, certified check, cashier’s check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card).

DROP BOX: You may make your payment in person at the Municipal Court drop box located outside the entrance to the Justice Facility. Please include your case number with your payment to insure proper credit (Personal check, money order, certified check, or cashier’s check). Please make all cash payments in person.

Valid identification shall be presented with all personal check and debit/credit cards presented for payment.

Fine Overpayments

  • The Mesquite Municipal Court occasionally receives overpayments of fines. The following procedure has been established to handle fine overpayments that do not exceed $10 per case:
  • The Court will retain any fine overpayments of $10 or less for a period of 1 year from the date of receipt.
  • Fine overpayments not claimed within 1 year of receipt will be deemed unclaimed property pursuant to NRS 120A.500(3).
  • All monies deemed to be unclaimed property will be transferred to the City of Mesquite General Fund immediately.
  • Any person who has made a fine overpayment not exceeding $10 may claim this money within 1 year of receipt by making a request to the Mesquite Municipal Court in writing providing their full legal name, mailing address, driver’s license number, and Mesquite Municipal Court case number(s).
  • Fine overpayments exceeding $10 will be refunded by the Court to the person making the payment at their last known address according to Court records. In the event the overpayment cannot be returned, the overpayment will be treated and disposed of consistent with Chapter 120A of the Nevada Revised Statutes.
  • This policy does not apply to any bail monies received by the Court, which must be refunded pursuant to NRS 178.528.

Fees

  • Administrative assessment fees, genetic marker fees, specialty court fees, collection fees and other applicable fees are added to fines pursuant to state law.
  • The Municipal court Bail Schedule is maintained in the Court Clerk’s Office.  Please direct bail inquiries to the Court Clerk.
  • If the Court authorizes community service in lieu of a fine, the conversion rate is: 1 hour of Community Service = the current minimum hourly wage amount set by the State of Nevada.
